Hey!

It's been a while since I made a journal! I fixed up my main page a bit, so I'm feeling pretty good!

But really I just wanna give an update of what's been going on in my life for the past couple of months (:

As you may or may not have know, I used to be a Spanish major, and I planned to study abroad in Buenos Aires for this fall semester. I actually did go to Buenos Aires, but only for 5 days. It was one of those situations where all of the sudden everything hits you and you get this overwhelming feeling of "this isn't right." I had been doubting what I wanted to do before I went abroad, so actually going abroad really was just the assurance this wasn't what I wanted.

So, basically, I came home. A lot easier said than done; it was pretty draining to convince my parents I wasn't just getting "culture shock" and that I didn't even want to do Spanish anymore, making it even more stupid for me to take Spanish only classes in a Spanish speaking country. Thankfully someone on the program could calm them down that cases like mine happened, and trying to make people like me stay only resulted badly for the student who would end up going home anyways.

A few days later, I was home, which led to my next task of my university. I honestly didn't like my school; the atmosphere was not right for me and living in a dorm like I did literally depressed me. To put it simply last semester especially was really hard for me mentally. Anyways, I finally was able to bring it up to my mom that I wanted to transfer out and be able to commute from home. My parents were pretty overwhelmed with all the new changes I was throwing at them, and even if at times I couldn't stand them during this, in the end I'm relieved they could accept it and let me do what I wanted.

From there, I started looking specifically at schools in Boston (a train that passes through my town goes straight to Boston so it's pretty convenient). I ended up setting my sighs on UMass Boston, and I had to fumble within that month to apply (I went to Buenos Aires at the end of July; when I returned there was about a month left of summer until the semester started). I honestly didn't think I'd be able to get into the fall semester, but luckily everything worked out.

As for my major, I'm officially an English major now! I was still unsure about what I wanted to do, but after talking to Toasty-Coconut we agreed I've always been into English. Once the semester started and I began taking classes, I began feeling a lot better. But even still, I've been left with a lot of anxiety and things like that, so I started seeing a therapist weekly, which has been super nice.

Bottom line is after everything, I feel like in a way I'm starting new! I feel like I'm finally out of a rut, and I'm excited to be able to draw/write more. Of course, my tablet is currently broken, but I'm hoping to fix that situation soon. But well, this explains part of the reason I chose a new name and changed some layout stuff, etc. The other reason though was simply because I wanted something more unique and defining to me! The name actually means nothing; I made it up. Toasty-Coconut suggested at least it start with "k" because of my name, so I went with that.

Aaaand now I'm rambling! Just wanted to give a quick update of what's been going on! I'm hoping to really be able to draw more once my tablet situation is fixed. As a heads up, though, I mostly post on my tumblr now because a lot of what I draw now are more "doodle-esque". But eventually they'll probably find their way into a sketch dump here. Either way, the link to my tumblr is at the top! I hope everyone on here has been doing well :3

On an unrelated final note... who else is super excited for Pokemon XY this weekend?
